ABOUT THE OBC, SC, ST & MINORITY WELFARE COMMITTEE

The OBC, SC, ST, and Minority Welfare Committee of Teachers Training College (B.Ed.), Aalo is a statutory body constituted under RGU guidelines and the equity principles mandated by ERC–NCTE, New Delhi. The Committee safeguards educational entitlements, constitutional rights, and welfare provisions for students belonging to OBC, SC, ST, and Minority communities.

It ensures non-discrimination, affirmative inclusion, and transparency in scholarships, admissions, welfare schemes, and institutional processes. The Committee monitors the implementation of reservation policies and coordinates with welfare agencies and the Equal Opportunity Cell of RGU for student support.

The Committee also handles grievance redressal, counselling, socio-economic support, and academic assistance for marginalized learners. It organizes awareness and empowerment programmes on constitutional rights, legal safeguards, and inclusive education practices.

OBJECTIVES OF THE OBC, SC, ST & MINORITY WELFARE COMMITTEE
  1. To institutionalize an equity-based framework aligned with constitutional mandates and RGU / NCTE regulations.
  2. To safeguard educational and socio-economic rights of OBC, SC, ST & Minority students through welfare interventions.
  3. To ensure transparent implementation of reservation policies in admissions, scholarships, and institutional services.
  4. To provide an effective grievance redressal platform against discrimination or harassment.
  5. To liaise with government welfare agencies for fund facilitation and student support services.
  6. To organize awareness programmes on constitutional rights, social justice, and inclusive education practices.
  7. To maintain updated documentation of beneficiaries and welfare schemes for regulatory reporting.
  8. To promote academic and professional empowerment through skill development and mentoring initiatives.
FUNCTIONS OF THE OBC, SC, ST & MINORITY WELFARE COMMITTEE
  1. To monitor compliance with reservation, welfare, and inclusion provisions as per RGU and NCTE norms.
  2. To verify and maintain records of eligible beneficiaries of scholarships, stipends, and welfare schemes.
  3. To address grievances related to discrimination or denial of rights, ensuring natural justice.
  4. To coordinate with government departments and university cells for welfare fund mobilization and policy execution.
  5. To organize sensitization and capacity-building programmes on rights and inclusive governance.
  6. To offer remedial coaching, mentoring, and skill enhancement for disadvantaged learners.
  7. To prepare and submit welfare audit reports to Principal and Academic Council.
  8. To ensure participatory representation and inclusiveness in all institutional activities.
