ABOUT THE ADMISSION COMMITTEE

In pursuance of the statutory provisions enshrined under the Rajiv Gandhi University Statutes Ordinances and Regulations and in strict conformity with the Norms and Procedures for Admission prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE New Delhi the Admission Committee of Teachers Training College B.Ed. Aalo stands duly constituted as a legally competent and academically empowered body vested with the authority to regulate supervise and execute the entire gamut of admission related operations of the institution. The Committee functions as an autonomous sub body under the administrative control of the Principal and acts in liaison with the affiliating University and the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education Government of Arunachal Pradesh ensuring adherence to all regulatory frameworks governing admission to the Bachelor of Education B.Ed. programme. The primary mandate of the Committee encompasses scrutiny and verification of credentials determination of merit through due process maintenance of transparency in selection and enforcement of equitable access in compliance with the Reservation Policy of the State and Central Governments. The Committee also ensures that the admission process is conducted through a judicious blend of academic merit procedural fairness and institutional integrity thereby upholding the sanctity of teacher education as envisioned under Clause 9(3) of the NCTE Regulations 2014. The composition of the Committee includes the Principal Chairperson senior faculty members nominated on rotational basis and one member designated as Convener cum Admission Officer. The Committee convenes periodically under due notification to deliberate upon admission modalities eligibility criteria and documentation protocols. In essence the Admission Committee operates as the statutory custodian of procedural rectitude academic legitimacy and institutional probity ensuring that every candidate’s admission into the B.Ed. programme of this College is in perfect consonance with the extant provisions of RGU Statutes and NCTE Regulatory Guidelines.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ADMISSION COMMITTEE
  1. To institutionalize procedural sanctity by ensuring that all admissions to the B.Ed. Programme are conducted in accordance with the statutory provisions, ordinances, and executive directives issued by Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
  2. To uphold academic probity and transparency in the selection and enrollment process through the application of meritocratic evaluation parameters and equitable reservation policies prescribed under State and Central Government mandates.
  3. To enforce regulatory compliance by aligning every phase of admission—notification, scrutiny, counseling, and final selection—with the NCTE (Recognition, Norms & Procedure) Regulations, 2014 and subsequent amendments thereto.
  4. To maintain procedural accountability through systematic documentation, record maintenance, and authentication of all admission-related data in conformity with University Audit and Verification Protocols.
  5. To safeguard inclusivity and accessibility by providing equitable opportunity to candidates from diverse socio-economic and geographical strata, in adherence to Article 14 and 15 of the Constitution of India and the inclusive vision of teacher education.
  6. To exercise administrative vigilance in the verification of original documents, testimonials, and eligibility criteria to preclude malpractice, impersonation, or fraudulent admission.
  7. To standardize admission modalities through the adoption of digitized record-keeping systems, merit registers, and verification indexes ensuring uniformity, traceability, and administrative precision.
  8. To facilitate inter-institutional coordination with RGU Admission Cell, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, and other regulatory bodies for ensuring uniform adherence to statutory timelines and procedural directives.
  9. To promote ethical governance and institutional accountability by adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards irregularities, thereby reinforcing the moral and professional ethos of the College.
  10. To perpetuate quality assurance mechanisms by conducting periodic review, internal audit, and self-evaluation of the admission process in conformity with the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) of NCTE and Academic Quality Mandate of RGU.
FUNCTIONS OF THE ADMISSION COMMITTEE
  1. To issue admission notifications and prospectus in strict adherence to the academic calendar ordinances and guidelines promulgated by RGU and NCTE.
  2. To formulate and operationalize admission modalities including eligibility selection procedures and weightage distribution.
  3. To conduct scrutiny and authentication of academic credentials domicile certificates reservation claims and other requisite documents.
  4. To prepare and finalize the merit list employing transparent evaluation parameters merit indexing and digital verification protocols.
  5. To supervise the counselling and seat allotment process ensuring compliance with equity and reservation norms.
  6. To maintain comprehensive admission records and registers in both manual and digitized formats.
  7. To liaise and coordinate with affiliating and regulatory authorities for timely submission of admission reports and compliance documentation.
  8. To monitor and ensure non deviation from the approved intake capacity and sanctioned strength.
  9. To address and redress admission related grievances by adopting fair and judicious procedures.
  10. To submit periodic compliance and evaluation reports to the Principal and governing authorities ensuring institutional accountability and procedural transparency.
