ABOUT THE GRIEVANCES AND REDRESSAL COMMITTEE

The Grievances and Redressal Committee of Teachers Training College (B.Ed.), Aalo is a statutory and quasi-judicial body formed in accordance with the regulatory framework of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh and the guidelines of ERC–NCTE, New Delhi. It functions as an institutional mechanism to promote fairness, justice, and ethical governance by addressing legitimate concerns raised by students, faculty, and staff.

The Committee ensures a time-bound and confidential procedure for addressing academic, administrative, and interpersonal grievances. It operates on the principles of natural justice, ensuring transparency, equality, and non-discrimination in all redressal procedures.

It examines written complaints, conducts inquiries, and recommends corrective action to the competent authority. The Committee also advises the Principal on policy measures and promotes a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and institutional harmony.

The Committee works within the legal mandate of NCTE regulations, UGC guidelines, and RGU ordinances to uphold due process and reinforce institutional integrity.

OBJECTIVES OF THE GRIEVANCES AND REDRESSAL COMMITTEE
  1. To establish a structured mechanism for impartial and timely grievance redressal as per RGU and NCTE norms.
  2. To ensure fairness, transparency, and due process in all grievance hearings and decisions.
  3. To safeguard legal and ethical rights of stakeholders without discrimination or bias.
  4. To maintain institutional integrity by resolving evaluation, attendance, or administrative issues lawfully.
  5. To promote accountability and corrective measures for systemic improvement.
  6. To foster a healthy academic environment through mediation, counseling, and conflict resolution.
  7. To conduct awareness programmes on rights, responsibilities, and grievance procedures.
  8. To advise the Principal and Governing Body on governance improvements and policy reforms.
FUNCTIONS OF THE GRIEVANCES AND REDRESSAL COMMITTEE
  1. To receive and register formal complaints with confidentiality and administrative propriety.
  2. To scrutinize grievances, verify documents, and initiate inquiry proceedings.
  3. To conduct hearings in a fair and unbiased manner following principles of natural justice.
  4. To recommend remedial measures and ensure compliance with statutory norms.
  5. To facilitate mediation and amicable settlement of disputes wherever possible.
  6. To maintain complete records of all proceedings for audit and legal reference.
  7. To periodically evaluate the grievance mechanism and propose improvements.
  8. To submit annual reports highlighting grievance patterns and recommendations.
