ABOUT THE CO-CURRICULAR COMMITTEE

The Co-Curricular Committee of Teachers Training College (B.Ed.), Aalo is an institutional statutory body constituted in accordance with the Academic Ordinances of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, and the Regulatory Framework of ERC-NCTE, New Delhi. It functions as a pedagogical and administrative mechanism to promote holistic education by integrating academic and co-curricular activities.

The Committee designs, implements, and evaluates events that enrich intellectual, ethical, cultural, and physical development of trainees. All programmes align with NCTE’s Framework for Teacher Education and RGU’s quality benchmarks.

It organizes debates, workshops, literary festivals, cultural events, art exhibitions, sports meets, excursions, and outreach activities while ensuring inclusivity and equal participation.

The Committee collaborates with IQAC, Extension Units, and the Physical Education Department to monitor performance and integrate experiential learning. It maintains detailed documentation of activities for audit, accreditation, and institutional assessment.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CO-CURRICULAR COMMITTEE
  1. To institutionalize a structured co-curricular framework aligned with RGU Statutes and ERC–NCTE Guidelines.
  2. To foster holistic development through intellectual, cultural, moral, physical, and aesthetic growth.
  3. To plan and supervise co-curricular and extension activities that enhance life skills and leadership.
  4. To promote democratic values, civic responsibility, and cultural awareness.
  5. To ensure inclusive participation and uphold gender equity and ethical fairness.
  6. To collaborate with IQAC and academic units for evaluating co-curricular impact.
  7. To maintain documentation and performance records for accreditation and audits.
  8. To promote experiential and reflective learning in cultural, physical, and community programmes.
FUNCTIONS OF THE CO-CURRICULAR COMMITTEE
  1. To formulate and review policies related to co-curricular and extension activities.
  2. To prepare and execute an annual calendar integrating academic and co-curricular programmes.
  3. To organize competitions, seminars, exhibitions, and tours to build creativity and leadership.
  4. To ensure inclusive and equitable participation adhering to institutional policies.
  5. To coordinate with IQAC, Extension Units, and Physical Education Department for execution and evaluation.
  6. To maintain digital and manual records of co-curricular events for audit and accreditation.
  7. To promote personality development, ethics, and social accountability through experiential learning.
  8. To submit annual analytical and evaluative reports to the Principal and IQAC.
